Hello Honeeyz! I am happy to announce that after a certain someone (Benjamin Fitzgerald Hamilton) decided to snack on a certain favorite pair of shoes (see pics included herein) and do a certain amount of damage (I talked about it at length here), I was able to have my shoes repaired to almost as good as new!! And to think, I was a little discouraged after a few people told me they didn't think there was much of anything that could be done to fix them and I was considering just giving up and letting it go. However, my favorite shoe repair shop, Fast Feet Shoes, in the Concord Mall in Wilmington, DE welcomed the challenge and looked at the shoe for a second and said, "yea, we can fix it but it won't be ready til next week" without even blinking. With that said, I paid the bill (which was super duper cheap by the way) and walked off expecting nothing particularly special in return. I basically would've been happy if they could just even up the chew mark so that I could maybe wear them with long pants and not feel self conscious. Obviously, the shoe isn't perfect but its darn near close, considering the damage that crazy dog did and I'm more than happy! I can wear them and unless you are some psycho weirdo all up in my business around my ankles (or a Honeey who knows this story b/c they follow my blog) you'd never know the history of this shoe.
The
While we can clearly see where the repair was made (mostly b/c we just know), who the heck cares! Anything looks better than the prior damaged state (see below for a revisit of the trauma)!

I know right Carsedra! They totally shocked me! I definitely wasn't expecting that. I'm totally over the moon! :-))
DeleteAlot of strength in your milk--when things mattter to you, you have to try to repair them, shoes, things, and RELATIONSHIPS...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely...especially relationships and loved ones. Sometimes we are too quick to give up or dismiss something or someone as irreparable without having even tried to fix it. Everyone and everything deserves an attempt to be made better.
DeleteThey did a phenomenal job! That work is worth driving from Philly to Concorde to check them out (I always need a shoe repaired). I'm happy you were able to salvage them; had you not taken the close-up, I promise, I wouldn't have even noticed the repair.
ReplyDeleteHey honeey! You are so right b/c I honestly thought he handed me the good shoe when he handed me the newly repaired one. Me and the kids were like woowwwww! You can only tell b/c we know the story and I took a close up, but at the ankle and on my foot you would have no idea. :-) Concord mall is right over the line when you cross in from Chester to DE so it's well worth the run if you need any shoe work done!
DeleteI'm still laughing at Benjamin off of this one...(that little menacing picture of him) LLS!! Wowwww they did an amazing job and like you said unless you're some weirdo that's all down at your feet (then I'm afraid you have bigger fish to fry if that's the case;) you really can't tell! Good for you for not listening to the nay sayers (I think I was one who told you to put'em down) and saving those fly babies!

Girl I still have one eye on his little destructive @ss. LOL. He better be lucky that they were able to fix it b/c he was still getting a little bit of silent treatment from momma!
